Los arándanos azules son pequeñas bayas de color azul oscuro que crecen en arbustos de la familia Ericaceae.
Deshidratados, son arándanos frescos que han sido sometidos a un proceso de deshidratación para eliminar la mayor parte de su contenido de agua. Esto les da una textura suave y un sabor concentrado, a la vez que preserva sus nutrientes.
Se consumen como un bocadillo por sí solos o se pueden agregar a mezclas de frutas secas y frutos secos para hacer una merienda energética. También se utilizan en repostería, como en panes, muffins, galletas y barras de cereal, así como en ensaladas y platos de cereales.
Almacenamiento
Se deben almacenar en un lugar fresco y seco, preferiblemente en un recipiente hermético para evitar que se endurezcan o se peguen. Se mantendrán frescos durante varios meses si se almacenan adecuadamente.

Los arándanos azules son originarios de América del Norte y se cultivan en regiones con climas frescos y húmedos en todo el mundo.
