El arroz botan, también conocido como arroz de sushi, es una variedad de arroz de grano corto originaria de Japón. Se caracteriza por tener granos redondos y pegajosos que se adhieren entre sí, lo que lo hace ideal para hacer sushi y otros platos japoneses.
Principalmente utilizado en la cocina japonesa para hacer sushi, rollos de sushi, bolas de arroz y otros platos tradicionales como donburi y onigiri. Su textura pegajosa y suave lo hace fácil de moldear y trabajar.
Almacenamiento
Se debe almacenar en un lugar fresco y seco, preferiblemente en un recipiente hermético para protegerlo de la humedad y los insectos.
Se mantendrá fresco durante varios meses si se almacena adecuadamente.
País de Origen
El arroz botan es originario de Japón y se cultiva principalmente en las regiones de Niigata, Akita y Hokkaido.
